Kitchen sink with a shower

Not as weird as the title sounds!

Basically I've installed a new ceramic sink unit into a clients home, but they have chosen a removable tap for pre rinsing and washing draining board etc...
Quite practical in the modern home.
Anyway, removing the old, tired metal sink was the easy bit. Only difficulty was that the hot water could not be isolated. This caused for a bit of clever thinking ;)
I had to cut the pipe and push an isolator on as quickly as possible so to minimise the flooding. WELL... I only went and did it!! No spillage, no mess, everything was dry.. Bar a towel I save for special occasions such as this one.

Once all was released if was time to unscrew all 22 work top clamps holding the sink in place. This task took approximately 10 minutes due to having minimal space under the old sink.

Once I was happy that everything was disconnected, the old unit came out.

Replacing the new ceramic sink was a bit more difficult as it was a slightly different shape, off centred and wouldn't clear a cupboard divider. Only way for this to fit, cupboard had to be cut to allow for fitting.

Here are some pictures to show the quality of my work.

Storm wall and thermostatic mixing shower

Never used this before, bit its actually turned out to look quite nice. If you don't know what storm wall is, its basically a sheet of texturised plastic. Easy to use and apply to any surface, just a bit of a nightmare to cut! Always worrying about whether its going to snap and you have to start again!!

Ive shot some before, during and after pictures so you can see whats been done.

The shower tray was 1200 x 800 and wasnt quite as wide as the room, so we had to box in with timber framing and plaster board. All pipe work was hidden behind the boxing and routed through the bottom so not to be too displayed.
This took around 3 days to complete. Hope you like the look of it :)

Stand alone bath

What a transformation. I really need to start taking before pictures. You know the ones before operation demolition takes place! Anyway, this is truly one of the best bathroom transformations i have been involved with. The walls were all over the place, the floor was far from level and the walls were solid!! I mean solid! I went through 4 core drill pieces drilling 1 hole.
But the end result was worth it! Just look at the pictures I've attached. The freestanding taps, the basin on solid oak, the shower cubicle with brushed aluminium walling.
I like it anyway :)

Until next time

Demon Plumbing

Hi Guys

Im a new starter with masses of enthusiasm and ideas for great bathroom, wetroom and shower designs. I also perform maintenance tasks ( the small jobs) like washer changes, radiator removals, blockages, tap changes and emergency callouts no matter what time!! I have started a portfolio of work which I will update every week for you to read and follow for hints and tips on all aspects of diy including tiling and carpentry (never thought id be doing that).

So, a little bit about me and what I do

This is my company and a logo that I designed

Qualified to City & Guilds diploma level 2, I have trained with some of the best plumbers in the southwest and midlands and have gained valuable knowledge that I will take forward and use in everyday situations.

SO, ENOUGH of the boring bit!! Lets get on and see if my work is as good as I say it is.

Project 1...

It started off with a bit of a rough and rugged shell, Green Tiles, varnished dado rails and black & white check plastic lino flooring.

After taking out the original suite and tearing up the floor, I was able to see what the pipework was like underneath the floor boards. its safe to say that due to condition and location of new utilities, that the pipework had to be replaced and repositioned.

The hours kept ticking and so did the progress of the new bathroom, before I knew it, it was Friday and I had a finished product

So as you can see, Black, White and chrome is a GREAT combination. Its subtle, yet Gives a clean look.

If you Like what you see, Leave a comment or follow me for more updates and more of my work each week
